Through the years I have met many people with many different needs. Though I am not a psychiatrist, I have come to learn of several types of people groups.

There are the people who only have designed for them what they have already seen and touched.

The others are those that want something way beyond the normal, to think outside the box.

These would be the two extremes; the safe zone and living on the edge.

There are other groups as well, but because there are these great differences the process of designing a house plan can turn into a process of learning and changing of the mind. This in turn can become an expensive endeavor.

The purpose of this book is to help give you a greater understanding about what makes up the structure and design of a house so you can make better decisions about your house plans and keep changes and costs to a minimum.
